Tell us a little bit about yourself. Where do you live? What do you do in daily life? When did you start playing lacrosse?
I live in Eindhoven, The Netherlands and I am currently graduating from the Technical University in Eindhoven and the master Industrial Design. My graduation project is done as an internship at Philips Design Lighting and is due a few days before we fly to Denver! I started playing lacrosse 6 years ago at the Tilburg Titans, after some time I started a university team in Eindhoven. I currently play for the Titans again and coach the Eindhoven team.
Congratulations with your spot on the team! What was the first thing you di d when you heard?
I sent a message to my friends and family who have supported me during the selection process (both mentally and financially).
What are you most looking forward to in Denver?
Representing my country at the World Championships and competing on the highest level of lacrosse imaginable.
What are your expectations for Denver?
I hope we improve the result of four years ago and finish top 8. For myself I hope to learn a lot about lacrosse and about playing in a team to be the best unit at the tournament.
How do you interpret the 2014 MDNT motto “Destination Denver and Beyond”?
I interpret Denver as a big step in the professionalization of Dutch top sport lacrosse. With the program we will improve the quality of lacrosse in The Netherlands and compete with the top of the world on tournaments for both men and women.
